The rinks have been left with unpaid ice and the players/teams were left with un-played games. Now there are some groups and individuals who were not in anyway impacted by the NESHL bankruptcy attempting to exploit the rink and team losses by claiming they are now operating the NESHL. We as rinks and teams are truly in this together and need to move forward without another middle man.
The rink owners will be working together with NESHL North teams to offer uninterrupted play and $1,000-$500 relief credits for those teams financially impacted by the NESHL bankruptcy!
The NBSHL is managed by the owners of Malden Valley Forum, Hockeytown USA & the Valley Hockey League and will also be working with other local rink owners to offer uninterrupted play once the rinks on the North Shore reopen. The NBSHL has committed $30,000 in credits to those teams effected by the NESHL's bankruptcy. These funds will be distributed as credits to teams that participated in the NESHL North of Boston winter league as follows; the first 20 teams to register will receive a $1,000 NESHL relief credit towards their 2020-21 Fall/Winter team fees. The remaining $10,000 will be distributed to the remaining NESHL North Teams that register with NBSHL until funds are depleted.
The Valley Rinks & NBSHL have been contacted by 25+ team captains. Therefore, we will now be opening registration for the 2020-21 NBSHL Fall/Winter League as well as an abbreviated Summer League.
We have kept the ice frozen at all 6 rinks and are working directly with the Governor’s office on behalf of the ice rink industry. We will be ready to drop the puck on a moment’s notice and look forward to working with all of you and getting back on the ice in the next few weeks!
